Alfa Romeo to return to F1 with Sauber

For 2018, Charles Leclerc is expected to form the driver lineup for the new Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team, alongside Ericsson although Antonio Giovinazzi could also be part of the lineup as a replacement for Ericsson. The agreement includes "strategic, commercial, and technological cooperation", and will lend Sauber the use of Alfa's technical staff. "This partnership will provide additional opportunities for the two organizations in both Formula 1 and the automotive sector in general", it stated.

Fangio won his first championship driving for Alfa Romeo in 1951, before going on to win five titles and become the greatest driver of all time.

"This agreement with the Sauber F1 Team is a significant step in the reshaping of the Alfa Romeo brand, which will return to Formula 1 after an absence of more than 30 years", said Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne, who also acts as CEO of Alf's parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
As a result, resources for initiatives to prevent and end violence against women and girls are severely lacking. Especially for Indigenous women, one day of public awareness is not enough to end violence against women.

Alfa Romeo is returning to the Formula 1 World Championship after three decades away from the sport.

From 1961 to 1979 Alfa Romeo became exclusively an engine supplier to several F1 teams. Alfa Romeo's role is labelled as one that will focus on sharing engineering know-how.

Sauber Holding chairman Pascal Picci explained that "working closely with a auto manufacturer is a great opportunity for the Sauber Group to further develop its technology and engineering projects". "We are confident that together we can bring the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team great success, and look forward to a long and successful partnership".

Canterbury ponders Ben Stokes induction
But the coaching staff think that to compete with Australia, they need Stokes on board. England's contortions over the matter have dominated the news agenda in Australia.

Few auto companies have more motorsports history than Alfa Romeo. But for more than 30 years now, Alfa's been absent from the top tier of open-wheel racing.

They then served as engine supplier for several teams from 1961until 1979, before returning with aworks team from 1979 to 1985, when they pulled out of F1.

The move back into F1 has come after Alfa Romeo's introduction of crucial new production vehicle models, the Stelvio and Giulia, and looks set to be the next step in the brand's rejuvenation. Hoping to rekindle memories of these historical triumphs, Alfa's return is another example of how serious Marchionne and FCA are taking this latest Alfa Romeo renaissance.
