Google: Here's how we predict battery life based on your usage patterns

The Pixel smartphone users can get to know the battery life estimations by heading on to Battery under the Settings menu.

Until now smartphone battery estimators presumed that a certain set of usage trend will continue throughout the day.

The latest implement in Pixel devices will give you a plain assumption that how long you can use your phone's battery without taking into your different phone usage habits. But now in that field there is a Google search bar which will take you to the google app. Now, the phone will evaluate how battery usage occurs over time and will use these data points as a reference to predict your battery drain on similar days. Let's say that you've used your Pixel device for several hours.

To improve on these crude estimates, Google now uses software on each Pixel device which learns how the owner uses that device's battery power over time. The Battery section will reveal both the percentage of battery life remaining and also an estimate of how many minutes this translates to.

Another way is to click on Battery and then tap on the big battery icon to see battery predictions.
