Target stores won't be open all night on Thanksgiving

Target is also offering early access to some Black Friday deals on Monday, Nov. 6, only, including sales on board games, vehicle seats and more.

Target stores will be open from 6 p.m.to midnight on Thanksgiving and will reopen at 6 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, according to a press release.

Also new this year, Target will be offering free shipping on holiday items.

The company will also change its hours this year to keep pace with customer habits - Target found that shoppers showed up on Thanksgiving and Black Friday last year, but there was a drop off once it got late.

Target isn't the only retailer leaking its Black Friday deals and hours.

The moves put the spotlight on Walmart, which has yet to disclose its strategy for the critical Black Friday promotional period. The retailer is providing free shipping and returns from now until December 23.
