The Twin Cities Salvation Army is trying to raise $11.7-million by the end of the year.

"It offers a sense of pride being able to work for a company that is very in tune with the community and letting team members participate, and engaging team members to actually get involved and volunteer", said TMMMS Team Member, Nathan Ratliff.

"We believe that during this last week before Christmas the weather is going to be good, the kettles are going to be out there and we're believing people are going to be in a giving spirit, wanting to share", he says.

The throw was high, but the tight end climbed the later to make the grab, making it 20-3 after the PAT. The Lions have a lot to be dancing about in the early going of Saturday's game against the Bears.

The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program connects caring residents with less fortunate neighbors to make sure every kid has a Merry Christmas.

The gifts donated by local businesses and individuals will be distributed from 8 a.m.to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at 1200 W. Kimberly Ave., connected to Fox Valley Christian Fellowship Church. Have we become more like our wealthier brethren, greedy to hang on to our money and spend it on our own pleasures?

To date, scientists have already come up with rubber, plastic, and concrete self-healing materials . As with numerous best discoveries, the polymer was discovered by accident, The Guardian reports.

Police arrested a man accused of taking money from a Salvation Army bucket he was in charge of watching.

And if you don't even have to come across a kettle to give. The App allows donors to select a Christmas kettle in their community by scanning a QR code or by using an interactive map.

Supporters can host their own online kettle and encourage their friends, family, neighbours and co-workers to donate to The Salvation Army.
