Majority of Alabama Republicans don't believe Roy Moore accusers

So Mitch McConnell is now a-ok with Roy Moore being in the Senate, and the reason is because if Democrat Doug Jones wins the Alabama election, and Bob Corker votes no on passed of the final bill, the vote will be a 50-50 deadlock. A new Washington Post/Schar Schoolpoll published Saturday shows that 50 percent of likely voters support Democratic candidate Doug Jones, compared to 47 percent who back Roy Moore for the December 12 contest.

The Democratic candidate leads by 18 points with women while Moore is ahead by 15 points among men, according to the survey. And an Emerson College poll released Tuesday showed 53 percent of likely Alabama voters supported Moore.

McConnell was asked whether Moore should be referred to the Senate ethics committee if he wins the upcoming special election in Alabama. Later, several other women made similar accusations. Like Trump, Moore has not given any ground, instead attempting to poke holes in picayune details surrounding the accusations against him.

Moore's Losing the Money Race to Democrat in Alabama's Senate Contest
Moore has been accused by several women of sexual misconduct when they were in their teens and Moore, now 70, was in his thirties. Trump also criticized Moore's opponent, Doug Jones , is a "Pelosi/Schumer puppet".

Saturday's Washington Post poll shows the Alabama electorate is divided on the validity of the allegations against Moore, and that some voters still believe those claims are baseless.

After McConnell said Moore should step aside, Moore tweeted that it was McConnell who should bow out of politics, saying he "has failed conservatives and must be replaced".

Among all likely voters, 21 percent believe the allegations against Moore are "definitely true", while 24 percent think they're "probably true".

Trump has said Moore says the allegations are untrue, saying, "He denies it". Slightly more, 49 percent, of white evangelicals said the same. In November, The Washington Post published the accounts of four women with stories about Moore, including Leigh Corfman's, who said that she was just 14 when she engaged in two sexually inappropriate meetings with Moore, who was then 32, in 1979. The incidents would have allegedly occurred when Moore, now 70, was in his 30s. "It's a time for choosing".

A Republican LGBT advocacy group, Log Cabin Republicans, has come out with an ad opposing Moore, calling on "good Christians" to reject him, according to The Hill.
