NBC News source says Matt Lauer will not receive a payout

"[Matt] will not be paid past his last day of work", a senior NBC News source told CNN Money.

Matt Lauer will not receive a payout after being fired by NBC amid allegations of sexual harassment, CNNMoney reports. The disgraced former Today show host will not be receiving a payout on his $20 million contract with NBC after reports claimed that his lawyers were fighting for him to receive the remainder of his salary even though he was sacked on Wednesday, Nov. 29 for allegedly sexually harassing his female co-workers at NBC.

The expected monetary compensation was based on the fact that Lauer was paid around $20 million a year to cohost the Today show. "Morale clauses" are typical for television news contracts and this case applies.

As you may know, the NBC News chairman, Andrew Lack, fired Matt from his position on the 28th of November after a female colleague said he engaged in "inappropriate sexual behavior".

A report from the NYP said, "Lawyers trying to get him $30 million payouts after firing".

Lack sent an email to everyone in the company yesterday.

Family companion Anne Edwards revealed to NBC offshoot WRAL that it would be odd for Mariah to go out so effectively. Woods said her daughter wears leg braces to help her walk, meaning she would have been unlikely to wander off alone.

An insider at the NBC said there is no doubt lawyers for the host would try to squeeze money out of his firing, but executives at the network had no intentions of doing so.

Repairing the damage caused is his "full-time job", Lauer said.

In a memo on Friday, Lack said NBCUniversal would conduct a review of what happened and would strengthen its internal processes so that staffers feel safe coming forward with allegations of misconduct.

Three women are known to have filed formal complaints with NBC this week about Lauer's alleged wrongdoing. He also directed employees to take any complaints to their managers, newsroom leaders, human resources officers or two available hotlines, the NBCUniversal Integrity Helpline and the Comcast Listens Helpline. But workers must be empowered to "take the crucial first step of reporting bad behavior".

Last fall, the network was accused of sitting on an "Access Hollywood" audio tape in which then-candidate Donald Trump was heard telling Billy Bush that prominence came with a license to grope women.
