Steelers WR Antonio Brown ruled out with calf injury

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is not expected to play in the second half of Sunday's game versus the New England Patriots after injuring his left calf, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. Brown needed help walking off the field and had trouble putting any pressure on his left leg. Brady took the Patriots right down the field, connecting with Cooks for a 43-yard gain that set up Rex Burkhead's 1-yard touchdown.

After the Steelers took control for most of the game both in possession time and the scoreboard, the Patriots had Tom Brady lead another game-winning drive that resulted in a winning touchdown for Dion Lewis with 55 seconds left in the game.

Antonio Brown may be done for the day after suffering a nasty injury against the New England Patriots. While those can linger, that would appear to qualify as good news in the long run for Brown and the Steelers.

Now, the Steelers have to hope Brown's injury isn't so serious that it would hurt their chances of winning a seventh Super Bowl.

Brown entered the Week 15 matchup with the Patriots with 99 catches. They need Hogan to get back and/or Britt to get caught up to speed more down the stretch. On the Patriots' previous drive, they were able to cut into an eight-point lead with a field goal, and the Steelers subsequently suffered their first three-and-out of the entire evening.

Keep that fact in mind, because after a 69-yard reception by JuJu Smith-Schuster came the 10-yard would-be go-ahead touchdown from James.

Brady repeatedly turned to Gronk on the Patriots' final scoring drive, connecting over the middle for back-to-back 26-yarders and then a 17-yarder to the Steelers' 8.

Ben Roethlisberger attempted an ill-fated fake spike a couple plays later, and his pass was deflected by Rowe in the end zone and intercepted by Duron Harmon to seal the wild victory.
