FCC Chairman Ajit Pai abruptly cancels CES appearance

Pai, who spearheaded the FCC's controversial decision, informed the Consumer Technology Association he would not be available for what was billed as a "candid conversation" with FTC acting chairwoman Maureen Ohlhausen, moderated by association president Gary Shapiro.

Jeremy Kaplan, editor-in-chief on Digital Trends, guessed that Pai cancelled because "he realized that the tech industry kinda despises him".

"He and his family have been subject to vicious and direct attacks and threats and any decision he makes regarding his own travel is fine with me", Shapiro said.

Apple acquires Canada-based app development service buddybuild
This is the second big acquisition by Apple in less than a month , after it acquired the music discovery app Shazam last month . It allows IOS app developers to run a UI & beta test and simultaneously offers a secure environment to build a proficient app.

The report said that federal law enforcement had looked into the situation and other FCC offices would be briefed.

RT America reached out to a spokesperson for CTA and are waiting to hear back. He had to halt his controversial vote to scrap the United States government's net neutrality rules in December after a bomb threat.

It's clear that the FCC's 2015 "net neutrality" order, which the pro-regulatory advocates now insist is gospel, actually allowed ISPs to engage in the very practices that they loudly proclaim the Commission has just now authorized. This move has made him unpopular with most of the country except for executives at internet service providers, to whom he's got close personal ties.

Supply discipline and demand to prop up oil prices in 2018
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at $60.16 a barrel at 0210 GMT, up 33 cents or 0.5 percent from their last close. Inventories are now down by nearly 20% from their historic highs last March and well below this time previous year or in 2015.

In November, federal prosecutors filed criminal charges against a Syracuse man for allegedly threatening to kill a NY member of Congress unless he backed net neutrality.

It's not the first time the chairman and commission have been threatened with violence.

Moments before the FCC voted to repeal the rules in December, the room was evacuated in response to a security threat. Last month, when the FCC voted to scrap the open Internet rules, the meeting was briefly interrupted by a bomb threat.

Kim Jong Un: Nuclear button is always on his desk
This shows that Kim does not intend to abandon the development of nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). The North sees the regular war drills between the South and the United States as preparations for war.
