Fire reported on top floor of Trump Tower in NY

An electrical fire broke out on the roof of the 68-floor Trump Tower in Manhattan early Monday morning.

The building was not evacuated and no injuries were reported.

A New York City Fire Department representative said the fire was called in at 6:58 a.m. local time and that units were on the scene, according to CNN's Kristen Holmes.

Initial reports had suggested that there were no injuries, however, later reports said that two people were injured and one of them was critical. Further details were not available. Fire officials said the fire was contained to the roof and never entered the building.

The Fire Department said the fire was not inside the building, but on top of it.

First son Eric Trump, who is executive vice president on the Trump Organization, tweeted a statement shortly after the fire was extinguished.
