Jaguars Stymie Bills In Playoff Battle

While the win wasn't pretty, it still offered up a golden ticket to the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.

Blake Bortles #5 of the Jacksonville Jaguars attempts a pass during the game against the Houston Texans at EverBank Field on October 18, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida.

In his first playoff game, Bortles had more yards rushing than passing, the first time that's happened since Steve McNair did it the last time Buffalo was in the playoffs. He produced 88 yards on the ground, which was more than his measly 87-yard effort through the air. Bortles was off all day, but made up for it with his legs. Most quarterbacks (Editor's Note: Here's looking at you, Joe Flacco) combust when faced with a poor passing performance. A season of ups and downs for Buffalo ended with the offense letting the Bills down one final time in a 10-3 loss.

The score was Koyack's first of the season (second in career) and capped a 15-play drive that took 8:52 - the Jaguars' longest drive by time this season.

The Jaguars will be the underdog this week, but you can count on the #Sacksonville fans to send that Duval pride north.

However, Fournette was not playing this game on paper.

Peters plays in Germany, Scrivens in the KHL and Poulin for a Croatian team that plays in the Austrian league. And then there's forward Wojtek Wolski , who a year ago was recovering in hospital from a broken neck.

Bortles has mostly played well this season, but his critics will point to his sluggish first half.

In the postseason for the first time since 2008, the third-seeded Jaguars (11-6) advanced to play at the No.2 seed Pittsburgh Steelers next week. Jacksonville wasn't able to do anything with it though as the Bills stopped them and forced them to punt.

The New York Jets, the Tennessee Titans, the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers set up the blueprint for moving the ball on the Jaguars' defense. The Jags had a measly 230 yards, the team's third-fewest total of the season.

On the last drive, the Bills were driving then Taylor got rocked by Dante Fowler Jr. and slammed his head on the field, taking him out of the game.

The seconds half was a different story, as the Bills fell to the Jaguars.

The Jaguars fade in-and-out of their run-stopping woes.

"It just feels good", Dareus added.

On a bad ankle, McCoy picked up 75 yards on 19 carries. He averaged 3.9 yards per carry against the Jaguars.

Other inactives for Buffalo: starting linebacker Matt Milano (hamstring), receiver Malachi Dupre, cornerback Shareece Wright, offensive tackle Conor McDermott, guard John Miller, tight end Khari Lee and receiver Brandon Reilly. That is a little worrisome.

But, oh, that woeful quarterbacking on Sunday.

The interception is Colvin's first in the league, but not his first experience with turnovers. Taylor had given himself up and was whistled down at the Jacksonville 47-yard line. Stopped twice inside the 5 in the second quarter, they lined up for a field goal from the 3 and Jacksonville was flagged for a neutral-zone infraction. After the penalty, Taylor threw two straight incompletions making Stephen Hauschka come out to kick the field goal. It remains up to the Bills to decide which path to take. He had five catches for 48 yards. Jalen Ramsey would intercept Peterman on 2nd-and-20 to seal the game. Patmon had a huge pass breakup late in the game. Even early in the game, it was evident that the Jags' staff were calling a conservative game.
