It's not just TVs that are getting bigger, monitors are too, and Acer turned up to CES with a huge new monitor aimed squarely at gamers. The company calls the new product category "BFGD" which stands for "Big Format Gaming Displays" and announced the first TV in this particular series of products.

At a desk, it's unlikely you'd be able to view the entirety of this monitor without a lot of head movement. The display delivers 1,000 nits peak luminance and local dimming provides higher contrast, deeper blacks and brighter whites.

Iran's Leader Blames 'Enemies' for Deadly Unrest
The past week's protests have been the largest since the disputed 2009 presidential election , which ended in bloodshed. The protests initially started peacefully but turned violent in some cases when hooligans joined the demonstrators.

The Asus panel also comes with Nvidia G-Sync technology, so any stutters that occur at the high-end 4K 120 fps frame rate can be smoothed out by working closely with a compatible Nvidia graphics card on the other end. We'll know more when ASUS, Acer, and HP make their individual announcements. This means that gamers will now have access to most of the Android games. On top of all that, the BFGD includes Nvidia's own proprietary Shield streaming service right out of the box.

At the center of these displays is NVIDIA's G-SYNC HDR technology, which syncs the full 120Hz refresh rate of the display to any game you might be playing on the SHIELD or on your PC. The entire experience can be controlled by voice, thanks to support for Google Assistant, which also allows smart home control.

Until Nvidia's partners in this BFGD enterprise make their own announcements, we can't give you exact details on pricing and availability, but you can expect these to be premium devices commanding a premium price.

The screen will feature G-Sync so that there is no tearing and the experience is as immersive as it can get. A new big gaming displays are about to appear on the market. If you game on an Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, it's certainly a tempting offer, especially as it boasts support for HDR.
