Powerful coastal storm bringing snow and ice from Florida to Maine

As the storm moves its way up the coast, "low pressure intensifying off the New England coast will spread snow and wind into parts of the Northeast Wednesday night-Thursday". Coastal Georgia and even areas of North Florida are expected to receive some snow, as are coastal cities further north in the Southeast.

Meanwhile, the eastern seaboard in the United States is getting blasted with what meteorologists are calling a "bomb cyclone", just before the polar vortex unleashes tremendous cold late this week. "As exciting as this is, please use extreme caution if you are driving & don't expose yourself to the cold for too long without proper gear", said the Tallahassee Police Department along with the hashtags #SunshineState #SnowDay #WinterIsHere.

SpaceX targeting late January for Falcon Heavy debut
The rocket has been rolled by the company, and it presently features three Falcon 9 first stages that are mounted sidewise. The previous year the United States stood exclusively atop the list of orbital launches was a sad one.

As Jason Samenow of The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang reports, "A monster storm will hammer coastal locations from Georgia to ME with ice and snow".

"This winter storm typically brings damaging wind conditions from 50-70 miles per hour along with blizzard-like precipitation", Bart said. Winter Storm Warnings have been issued across the Florida Big Bend and south central Georgia areas. The National Weather Service reported snow fell in the city Wednesday morning.

Flu cases up in NY state
A/H3N2 - a strain of flu that mainly affects the elderly and people with risk factors like a long term health condition. Recent media reports told of how the United Kingdom could be set for a "deadly flu outbreak".

At 5:45am on Wednesday, people living in north Tallahassee were seeing freezing rain and sleet. The timing of the storm is expected to bring snowfall from the Virginia Tidewater to New York City and New England during the day.

Most of the cancellations were in New Jersey, Boston and NY, which are seeing snowfall rates of up to 3 inches (7.62 centimeters) an hour and wind gusts up to 80 miles (128 kilometers) per hour. The lower the pressure, the stronger the storm - which means that bomb-ranked storms can conjure up devastating wintry conditions.

Goldman Sachs raises 2018 oil price forecast
Only rising USA production, which is on the verge of breaking through 10 million bpd, is weighing on the price outlook for 2018. It was the first time since January 2014 that the two crude oil benchmarks opened the year above $60 United States per barrel.

Expect another Environment Canada extreme cold warning in the next day or two, with frigid air descending from the Arctic on Friday and into the weekend that could see daytime readings reach a unsafe low of -35 C when the wind chill is factored in.
