The winning numbers in the January 5 drawing were 28, 30, 39, 59 and 70, and the Mega Ball 10. The biggest Mega Millions jackpot was in 2012, when three winners split $656 million.

The million-dollar ticket in Virginia matched the first five numbers. As usual, the victor can choose the annuity or opt for the cash at $281 million, which is still a pretty penny as the sole victor.
