Apple investigating AirPod earbud explosion

Apple investigating AirPod earbud explosion

A man from Tampa, Florida claims one of his Apple AirPods blew up while he was at the gym.

The incident happened earlier this week when Jason Colon was working out at a local LA Fitness club in St. Petersburg, Fla. While being shocked at what was happening, the man left it on a workout equipment and went for help. The right AirPod was burned and broken while the left side was left unharmed. White smoke started to come out of the device. It was already popped. "I don't know what would've happened to my ear", he said.

North Korea: No intention to meet U.S. officials
Abe said, "We confirmed we would further reinforce our cooperation regarding North Korea's [actions of] skirting the sanctions". But it would not be the first time Trump administration officials have sat face-to-face with North Korean diplomats.

Apple said it was investigating.

Colon said he was relieved he took off the AirPod before the explosion.

Jerome Powell sworn in as new Fed chair
Jerome Powell took office as chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System on Monday, for a four-year term. He studied politics at Princeton University, before earning a law degree from Georgetown University.

Worth pointing out is that while the inherent incident is likely to raise serious questions about AirPod safety, it's only the first of such incidents to affect AirPods - and we now have no reason to believe there's a broader, software, hardware or technical-related issue afoot. "You can see flame damage", Colon said. The lithium-ion batteries in the phones could overheat and pose a safety risk, the company said after it had received a few dozen reports of Note 7 batteries catching on fire. Colon was obviously thankful that he had removed the right AirPod before it exploded.

You look at Apple's wireless Bluetooth powered AirPods and you think that here is a benign device that could never cause a problem. It stands to reason that, like any other rechargeable battery, those units could be damaged or defective in a way that could cause them to rupture.

GM outlines Knicks' goals for when Porzingis returns
But he wanted the challenge and has been up for it, averaging 22.7 points and a league-leading 2.4 blocked shots per game. One issue that is unsettled in the wake of Porzingis' injury is the Knicks' plans to offer him a rookie extension.

They're not flawless, but for a first generation product, they're pretty good. An Apple spokesman told WFLA that it was investigating the incident and would reach out to Colon.
