Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez to miss Manchester City game

Leicester City manager Claude Puel confirmed that Riyad Mahrez will miss Saturday's game against Manchester City, the club he had hoped to join last month, as the Algerian's standoff with his club continued.

THE absence of Riyad Mahrez is not appearing to damage the morale in Leicester City's camp.

The Algeria global has not featured for the Foxes - in matches or training - since a dream move to the Etihad Stadium fell through on transfer deadline day. "We offered our services last week to the club but I've not heard anything back".

This is What the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Will Look Like!
The new face blends into sheetmetal that looks more upscale and more SUV-like in appearance from today's version. An eight-speed automatic transmission and Hyundai's HTRAC all-wheel drive system are standard across the range.

After a dip in form last term, Mahrez has looked almost back to his best again in 2017-18, especially since the appointment of Claude Puel as manager in October.

Riyad Mahrez and Leicester should aim to resolve their dispute "as soon as possible", says players' union chief Gordon Taylor. He loves to touch the football but he needs to come back right.

Mahrez is unhappy that Leicester were determined to secure such a huge profit on a player they bought for a reported £350,000 from French second-division side Le Havre in 2014 and who played a pivotal role in the club's rise from the Championship to Premier League champions.

"I don't want to comment and give details of our relationship with Riyad".

'I think it is important in this hard time to keep all players, and club, united. He is not just a player who treats football like work, he enjoys the pitch, to stay after training sessions.

And City have reportedly scrapped plans to pursue him this summer because of his attitude.
