Mets reportedly reach 2-year deal with 3B Todd Frazier

Mets reportedly reach 2-year deal with 3B Todd Frazier

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Mets have an agreement with Todd Frazier on a two-year, $17 million contract. As is customary at this point in the reporting/signing process, the deal is pending a physical. Between the White Sox and Yankees last season, Frazier hit.213 but posted a career-high.344 on-base percentage along with 27 home runs and 76 R.B.I.

Sandy Alderson previously said while he has had some "focus" on improving the infield, the team was thinking "expansively" this offseason.

With Frazier on board, it will push Asdrubal Cabrera to second base full time.

Shadow of Rising Costs Looming Over Google
Google could be the fastest-growing cloud computing service provider but it's still playing catch-up to Amazon Web Services. The U.S. market counted for $11.8 billion of the total revenue , with that revenue up 25 percent over a year ago .

The 31-year-old Frazier will provide power to the Mets lineup, having averaged nearly 33 home runs a year since 2014-Frazier's first year as an All-Star.

He hit.213 with 27 home runs and 76 RBI a year ago, a season where he was traded near the deadline from the White Sox to the Yankees.

Noah Syndergaard immediately tweeted his approval (or disapproval?) of the move, posting a thumbs down emoji to Twitter.

After surgery, Eagles fan frets: Did I miss the Super Bowl?
Haley Parks got her wisdom teeth out the other day, and her parents recorded her as she was coming out of her anesthesia fog. But it all started with a few goofy videos taken after Haley's wisdom tooth extraction.

Frazier, a welcome midseason acquisition for the Yankees previous year, will play third base, filling a hole that has always been vacated by an ailing David Wright and temporarily occupied by Asdrubal Cabrera, a natural shortstop. He's a good defender at third and has seen some time at first as well. Cabrera likely will shift to second base, with Amed Rosario at shortstop.

While former star third baseman David Wright continues his comeback attempt from multiple surgeries, it's unclear when - or if - he'll be able to return.

Another possible option is giving a minor-league deal to free agent Yunel Escobar, who hit.274 average with seven homers and 31 RBIs over 89 games last season playing for the Los Angeles Angels. During the Yankees' postseason run to the ACLS, Frazier hit.186 with one home run and five runs batted in.

Turkey 'neutralises' 900 terrorists in Syria's Afrin
Turkey's military launched an incursion into northern Syria's Afrin region against the USA -backed YPG militia two weeks ago. A civilian in southern Turkey was killed by a rocket which was sacked from northern Syria, a local media reported on Friday.

It's probably some of the best news that Mets fans have received in a while.
