Leicester ace Mahrez admits Man City transfer frustration

Riyad Mahrez has expressed his regret at the fall-out following his failed move to Manchester City in the January transfer window.

The Algeria worldwide was absent for two Leicester City matches after missing out on joining the Premier League leaders, who reportedly made a £60 million (A$106.40 million) offer on deadline day two months ago.

"It was hard, I've always been in contact with the club".

'To be honest, everyone has been very good and it's in the past now.

But the player has hit back at the assumptions made about his absence, and insists the club were always aware of his whereabouts.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Mahrez is keen on forcing through a move to Roma this summer, but it is thought that the two clubs are yet to agree a deal for the 27-year-old.

"There are always talks between me and the club, everything is good, so we will see in the summer if things come. But at the moment I'm a Leicester player and all is good here".

"It was hard, but I spoke with the players, I spoke with the manager, I spoke with everyone and everyone was OK, everyone was good", he said.

Major incident declared in Salisbury because of 'dangerous substance'
The trust running Salisbury District Hospital advised people not to attend the emergency department "unless extremely urgent". One of the victims is a former Russian spy, Britain's national broadcaster said.

Mahrez missed Leicester's games against Everton and Swansea during his self-imposed exile, with reports claiming he was distraught by the collapsed move and angry at Leicester for refusing to let him go.

"In football players come and players leave".

The situation has since been cleared up, with a club spokesperson telling Goal: "It's not a genuine post and we're working with Facebook to have it removed".

Asked about what would happen when the transfer window opened again in the summer, Mahrez declined to commit his future to the Foxes. So my mind and my focus is on Leicester.

Mahrez said: "I wasn't bothered. So I don't want talk about the transfer window".

Mahrez also confirmed that a post on his Facebook page this week saying he had retired was the work of hackers.
