Logitech Crayon and Rugged Combo 2 Are Only for Classrooms

Logitech Crayon and Rugged Combo 2 Are Only for Classrooms

The so-called "digital pencil" sports an 8-hour battery life and instantly connects to an iPad without the need to pair. It's also slated to retail for $49 dollars, which is a considerable discount over the $99 Apple Pencil, assuming the user is actually interested in using a stylus at all. It is created to protect the iPad against bumps, scratches and drops from up to 4 feet high.

Offering both a keyboard and case, the Rugged Combo 2 is powered by the iPad itself via a proprietary connector. Specifically designed for the classroom, the Logitech Crayon digital pencil takes advantage of new technology in iPad and provides an affordable solution for education so students can do even more including handwrite notes, illustrate projects and draw diagrams. The case can protect the tablet from drops up to 4ft in height, the keys are pry-resistant to prevent kids from easily destroying them, and the keyboard is detachable. The Crayon accessory is a stylus that Apple promises will deliver low latency, tilt support and high sub-pixel precision. They're also silent, so tapping away on an iPad won't disturb other nearby students.

TRS wins all three Rajya Sabha seats from Telangana

Though Apple's Pencil remains an option, 6th-generation iPad owners will be able to buy Logitech's Crayon, a stylus with a $49 price tag that will be made available directly to educators starting this summer.

The case has a built-in kickstand that can prop-up the iPad at various angles and four viewing modes: typing mode, viewing mode, notebook mode and travel mode. At half the price, the Crayon is a great alternative to the Apple Pencil, if you're okay with the chunkier design.
