Tennis World Tour Is Swinging For Match Point On Nintendo Switch

A big part of last night's Direct was focused on providing us the ins and outs on Mario's next big sports title, Mario Tennis Aces. Take three Zone Shots to the racket and it's game over, so make sure to time those blocks carefully.

A lengthy segment of today's Nintendo Direct focused on Mario Tennis Aces, with Nintendo detailing the gameplay features available in the tennis title. Zone Shots, which can damage an opponent's racket, are one kind of powered-up option that players have at their disposal.

Players will be able to use the Joy-Cons and Pro Controller for standard controls but will also be able to swing the Joy-Cons and use motion controls should they choose. Participating in these online tournaments will reward you with special in-game outfits and additional characters. More characters will be available with free updates.

That's everything that was shown off during this Nintendo Direct. The DLC updates will include 100 pieces of gear, new stages such as the Pirahna Pit and Wahoo World, and rank X, harder than Rank S+, for Splatoon pros. There were plenty of announcements for both the 3DS and Nintendo Switch. In addition, Super Smash Bros. will be coming to the Switch as well sometime in 2018.
