They're Back! Faye Dunaway & Warren Beatty To Present At Oscars 2018

One year after the most shocking mix-up in Academy Awards history, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway may be returning to the Oscar stage.

The pair made history at last year's Academy Awards as they announced La La Land as the victor instead of Moonlight, after being handed the wrong envelope.

Announcing La La Land as Best Picture, the pair had been given the wrong envelope to announce the prize, leading Oscar producers to run onto the stage midway-through the acceptance speeches to unveil Moonlight as the real victor. Now, a year later, Beatty and Dunaway are returning to the Oscars to present Best Picture once again. The award then went to the correct victor, MOONLIGHT moments after.

The PwC executives in charge of the envelopes, who were ultimately responsible for the flub, were not invited back. "We couldn't have imagined that (envelope mix-up) before it happened, so you never know".

"I had no idea that one shot of a card that says "Moonlight" will probably define my career for the rest of my life", Weiss told Business Insider over the phone. Well, it looks like they're getting a second chance and will reportedly announce the victor once again at the 2018 Academy Awards. Indeed, as the producers of La La Land took the stage to accept what they thought was their best picture award, the production team was preparing to bring the carefully choreographed telecast in for a smooth landing. "We appreciate the grace with which the nominees, the Academy, ABC, and Jimmy Kimmel handled the situation".

Lest we forget: after walking up to the podium and opening the envelope at a glacial pace at the end of the four-hour awards show, Beatty appeared confused after opening the envelope.
