Trump will get the military parade he wanted - just not the tanks

The details of President Donald Trump's military parade have leaked, and from the look of the things, it doesn't seem like we are going to have tanks rolling through the capital.

The Pentagon memo did not include a cost estimate for the parade.

And at the conclusion of the parade woukd be "a heavy air component" that, if possible, incorporates older aircraft, according to the outline.

"Consideration must be given to minimise damage to local infrastructure", the memo notes, adding that there will be "wheeled vehicles only". Such parades in other countries are usually staged to celebrate victories in battle or showcase military might.

AC Milan v Arsenal - story of the match
When we don't do it of course I'm suffering like everyone else. They did well to block our play in the midfield . Overall I'm pleased with the spirit we showed.

As previously reported, the parade is to take place in November - on Veterans Day to be specific - and it "will focus on the contributions of our Veterans throughout the history of the U.S. Military, starting from the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 to today, with an emphasis on the price of freedom", according to the memo.

The parade route will run from the White House to the Capitol.

There will be no tanks at America's military parade, however - likely a disappointment to Trump who was enamored by the heavy armor that rumbled through the streets of Paris last July when he watched France's Bastille Day celebration.

CNN reports the Joint Staff will plan the parade and Northern Command will execute it.

Waymo To Test Its Fleet Of Fully-Autonomous Semis In Atlanta
The company added that it believes that "self-driving technology has the potential to make this sector safer and even stronger". Waymo is starting out small with this pilot test, using these semi trucks to carry cargo destined for Google's data centers.

"Veterans and Medal of Honor recipients should be surrounding POTUS in the reviewing area at the Capitol", the memo reads, using an acronym for president of the United States.

The parade will focus on the contributions of American veterans throughout the history of the USA military, starting with the Revolutionary War, and highlight the evolution of women veterans from World War II to the present, according to the memo.

In practice, that means "period uniforms", re-enactments and even the use of an "old guard fife and drum", the memo says.

Trump ordered the celebration last month after he was enthralled by the pomp and circumstance of Bastille Day on a visit to France.

Advance by Syrian army in Eastern Ghouta splits rebel enclave in three
Eastern Ghouta, which lies just east of Damascus, is home to some 400,000 civilians and is controlled by myriad armed groups. Rebels deny this and say the area's inhabitants have not crossed into government territory because they fear persecution.

"Being a great president has to do with a lot of things, but one of them is being a great cheerleader for the country", Trump said.
