Facebook looks to regulate political ads ahead of elections in India

CEO Mark Zuckerberg told reporters Wednesday that Facebook is shutting down a feature that let people search for Facebook users by phone number or email address.

"As representatives of Myanmar civil society organizations and the people who raised the Facebook Messenger threat to your team's attention, we were surprised to hear you use this case to praise the effectiveness of your "systems" in the context of Myanmar".

While I understand that a large function of this is attributable to the fact that Facebook is still nailing down details on this I would like to request clarification on what you mean when you said that it should directionally be, in spirit, the whole thing.

Elizabeth Denham, the United Kingdom privacy regulator leading the European investigations into how user data ended up in the hands of consulting firm Cambridge Analytica, will say in a speech on Monday that the technology industry and regulators must improve the public's trust and confidence in how their private information is handled.
