Spotify announces new free version of its mobile app

This new method is being called "assisted playlisting" and will provide users of the free mobile version to receive more song recommendations based on both the content and names of the playlists they are personally creating.

Some of these playlists will include personalized recommendations based on user taste. Users will be able to play any song they want from any of those playlists and as many times as they want without having to shuffle.

Spotify said giving users more control over their music might encourage them to become paid subscribers. It will also impact the battery less.

Fox Talk Show Host Sean Hannity Is A Shrewd Real Estate Investor
Hannity was widely criticized for not disclosing the relationship with Cohen on his program, where he blasted the investigation. Hannity has acquired hundreds of properties, using shell companies , across the USA over the last decade.

These features were detailed today (April 24) by Babar Zafar, the vice president of product development, who explained how the company believes these features will grow Spotify's free user count, which, in turn, creates more paying users. Spotify said 60% of premium users began on the free service. "We think these changes will increase the number of music fans using Spotify, regardless of whether they're ready to pay a monthly subscription or not". You'll see the new features and have access to more music at the free level.

Spotify will now ask users to select at least five of their favorite artists so that it can generate personalized song suggestions.

Free users will have 15 playlists available with the on-demand streaming feature, although none of these can be customised. The Spotify premium version costs $/£9.99 per month, and grants unlimited ad-free access to Spotify's entire music library on any device, with the ability to download songs for offline listening, too. First and foremost, the free version of Spotify will no longer be based exclusively on radio-like shuffle listening experiences. (Its free mobile offering hadn't been updated since 2014, or about a billion internet years.) As of the end of 2017, it had 90 million free users and 71 million subscribers. You can also now choose to use less data when playing music so you can save up if you're dealing with limited data. South Africans were able to get the free service from the moment the signed up, making them some of the first in the world to do so.

For those who use Spotify Premium, this news is of little to no effect.

The announcement was made during a recent event in NY, where Spotify provided several interesting details about its service.
