Final numbers are expected Monday. Unlike that film, Infinity War has yet to open in China, the world's second-largest movie market.

Infinity War has received generally positive reviews from critics, and moviegoers gave it an A CinemaScore. It now stands as the fourth highest preview total in history after Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2. Only "The Fate of the Furious", which had a day-and-date global release with China included, scored more with $443 million internationally, though that film had the previous global launch record with a "mere" $541.9 million. The film will soon cross the coveted Rs 100 crore mark in the opening weekend itself. It dethroned the previous domestic victor from its own franchise - The Avengers (2012) and also decimated DCEU film Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice which held the crown at $422.5 on its opening at the worldwide box-office. Analysts at Box Office Pro were predicting as much as $255 million in domestic weekend sales.
