Britain's Labour tries to force PM May's hand on customs proposals

It follows the first Brexit "White Paper" of February 2017 in which Davis promised the government would seek a "bold and ambitious free trade agreement".

She is struggling to build a consensus around one of two customs options.

Liberal Democrat MP Tom Brake, a supporter of the Best for Britain campaign against Hard Brexit, said the war cabinet had "kicked the can down the road again".

"I thought the prime minister's piece in the Sunday Times really set it out very clearly", he said after talks with his French counterpart in London.

Conte 'committed' to Chelsea, but…
The Spaniard, who has a year left on his contract, has been critical of Newcastle's poor transfer dealings throughout the season. Manager Antonio Conte made eight changes with the final in mind and saw an unimpressive performance.

Britain's business minister said the government understands the importance of avoiding friction in the automotive supply chain after Brexit, as ministers try to overcome differences as to what customs relationships Britain should have with the EU.

At the same time, Mr Davis has reportedly told the PM that the customs partnership model she favours would be illegal under worldwide law.

David Lidington, the Cabinet Office minister, has said the cabinet may need weeks to thrash out the two customs options that have divided ministers, as it emerged the government is taking legal advice on both models.

The other plan, known as Max Fac, puts more distance between the United Kingdom and the European Union and relies on untested technology. Though the bloc previously dismissed both options as unworkable, it has started to engage on May's partnership plan by asking for more details.

But EU negotiator Michel Barnier said on Monday that no significant progress had been made in the Brexit talks since March and warned London that time was running out to seal a deal by October to prevent Britain crashing out of the bloc. On May's preferred option, hurdles include the impact of Britain having its own independent trade and tariffs policy, and who would have jurisdiction over a dispute resolution mechanism. The party has used the "humble address" to get the government to hand over documents in the past.

It would require the Government to release to Parliament all papers prepared for the sub-committee on the two customs models, including any economic analysis.

The Brexiteers are determined to ensure Mrs May does not backtrack on a customs union or single market and seem to have little concern about the implications for the border in the event of a hard Brexit.

Both the government and the Labour Party have rejected joining the EEA because it would leave the United Kingdom subject to European Union rules after Brexit-though the House of Lords voted in favor of it last week.

Chinas first home-built aircraft carrier begins sea trials
The first round of sea trials is expected to primarily test the reliability of the carrier's power and propulsion systems. Now the country only has a retrofitted Soviet-era aircraft carrier called the Liaoning , which was launched in 2012.
