Elon Musk says this Indian holds key for Tesla’s India launch

Consumer Reports said today it "now recommends the Tesla Model 3, after our testers found that a recent over-the-air (OTA) update improved the car's braking distance by nearly 20 feet".

On May 22nd, Consumer Reports published that they wouldn't be recommending the Tesla Model 3 due to long braking distances and a difficult-to-use touchscreen.

Long emergency stopping distances, difficult-to-use controls and a harsh ride stopped Tesla's Model 3 electric auto from getting a recommended buy rating from Consumer Reports.

During its initial review of the Model 3, the consumer ratings publication found that the Model 3's stopping distance at 60 miles per hour - approximately 152 feet - was "far worse" than any recent model it had tested and "about seven feet longer than the stopping distance of a Ford F-150 full-sized pickup".

If a simple majority votes in favour, the constitutional court would then be called to decide whether to impeach or not. Instead, he said, the powers-that-be didn't like his choice for economics minister so they pulled the plug.

As part of the over-the-air software that fixed the braking issue, Tesla also addressed some of Consumer Reports' complaints about the Model 3's controls on the center screen.

Fisher remained hopeful Tesla will bring changes to improve Model 3's user experience, and said the company may consider a traditional transponder key in addition to the car's keyless system.

Production of Tesla Model 3s began in July of previous year and the first regular customers only received their cars in December after some Tesla employees. Model 3 now has improved ride comfort, lower wind noise & many other small improvements.

The reversal - not the first time CR has done this with a Tesla vehicle - followed a public argument on Twitter between the consumer organization and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who described the initial review as "very unusual". Musk said some of those problems could be addressed with over-the-air updates. The braking issues kept CR from giving the Model 3 its recommendation.

According to Tesla, changes to the antilock braking system accounted for the improvements to the Model 3's performance.

Tesla-CEO Elon Musk speaks during the delivery of the first Tesla Model 3 in Fremont, US. CR's results seem to indicate that the update worked, though the publication noted that it doesn't quite live up to Musk's promise because, "the braking performance is not class-leading".

Consumer Reports noted in its updated score for the Model 3 that several points of concern still were still evident in the vehicle.
