Guatemala inaugurates embassy in Jerusalem after USA move

Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales attended the opening Wednesday morning of the embassy in the Technological Park of southern Jerusalem's Malha neighborhood.

Guatemala was the first nation after the USA to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, on December 24, 2017.

Guatemala opened an embassy in Jerusalem on Wednesday, two days after the United States inaugurated its new site in the contested city in a move that infuriated Palestinians and drew global condemnation.

Guatemala is now the second country to move its Israeli embassy back to Jerusalem. You were always among the first.

During the ceremony, Netanyahu praised the Central American country for its long friendship and recognition of the Jewish State. Paraguay is also reportedly preparing to relocate its embassy to Jerusalem soon.
