Hundreds of heartbroken supporters gather in touching tribute to 'warrior' Alfie Evans

"I am deeply moved by the death of little Alfie".

Following Alder Hey hospital receiving abuse from the public, Alfie's father called on the public to go back to their everyday lives as he and his family took the time to grieve the loss of their baby son. "We are heartbroken." After countless battles with the court in hopes of a ruling to keep their son alive and insisting that he wasn't suffering in any way, the couple lost an appeal at the Supreme Court and European Court of Human Rights.

His parents fought for months in front of judges and continued to appeal the decision to take him off life support almost up to Alfie's death.

The toddler, Alfie Evans, had a degenerative brain condition that was, according to doctors, incurable.

A statement released by Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool read "All of us feel deeply for Alfie, Kate, Tom and his whole family and our thoughts are with them".

Cowboys was hit with a surprise retiring by Jason Witten
The Dallas Cowboys were originally under the impression that Jason Witten was going to attempt to play until he was 40 years old. In addition, Witten is second behind Gonzalez in career receiving yards and Pro Bowl appearances by a tight end.

The controversy of care mirrored another British case that drew attention worldwide.

CBN News spoke with Andrea Williams, the chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, which is representing Alfie's father, about the toddler's death.

British law states that parents "cannot demand a particular treatment to be continued where the burdens of the treatment clearly outweigh the benefits for the child", according to Agence France-Presse.

The rulings echoed another high-profile case, that of Charlie Gard, the British infant who had a rare genetic abnormality known as mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome.

Alfie was in the middle of a huge legal battle between his parents and the courts.

Hundreds of heartbroken supporters gathered to pay tribute to Alfie Evans, the "warrior" toddler who passed away today. Charlie died in July 2017 with his parents by his side a day after. "Awful news", Tara Vernal wrote on Facebook.

In an earlier statement published on April 12, Alfie's mother Kate James wrote, "How sad is it that someone can tell you where and when your child is going to die?" Fly high and free darling.

He said: I would like to express my deepest sympathy at this moment of loss to Tom and Kate as we hold little Alfie in our prayers.

Steven Woolfe, Member of the European Parliament, who is pushing to change the law in the United Kingdom "in favour of parents", tweeted, "I am devastated by the passing of little Alfie, who has been a fighter throughout".
