Border patrol chase ends in deadly crash, at least five killed

Five undocumented immigrants in a speeding sport utility vehicle (SUV) were killed when it crashed while being chased by border patrol agents in Texas town near the Mexico border, officials said.

Border Patrol officials have repeatedly warned of the dangers of smuggling large numbers of people in vehicles.

The crash happened on Highway 85 in Big Wells, a tiny city in Dimmit County about 100 miles southwest of San Antonio.

Twelve immigrants were ejected when the auto crash.
