Trump withdraws endorsement of G7 joint statement

In the communique announced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the group of major industrial nations - Canada, the USA, the UK, France, Italy, Japan and Germany - agreed on the need for "free, fair, and mutually beneficial trade" and the importance of fighting protectionism.

Before jumping on Air Force One to fly to Canada, which is hosting the summit in La Malbaie north of Quebec City, Trump called for a return to the body's pre-2014 "G8" formula.

In a followup tweet, Trump targeted Trudeau again, saying he "acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, "US Tariffs were kind of insulting" and he 'will not be pushed around'".

President Donald Trump continued to blast "bad" trade deals with key United States allies as he left the G7 summit in Canada early Saturday, telling reporters that he would "fix" unfair trade relationships or end them. To United States, frankly, it would be a good thing but I'm not looking to do that.

"If they retaliate, they're making a mistake", Trump declared before departing the annual Group of Seven summit, which includes Britain, Italy, France, Germany and Japan. "We're like the piggy bank that everybody is robbing". "Our tariffs are in response to his of 270 per cent on dairy!"

Jutanugarn had gone into her final round at 12-under 204 with her South Korean rival sitting in third place, six shots adrift. Kim was on the green in two, while Jutanugarn pulled her second shot into a bunker, and both walked away with a par.

But the summit host, Trudeau, whose nation was among those singled out by Trump, pushed back and said he would not hesitate to retaliate against his neighbor to the south.

Still, the USA and European Union will establish a dialog on trade within the next two weeks, signaling a modest step forward for the bitterly divided allies of the G7.

"President Trump is targeting the dairy sector because he wants to dump US dairy into Canada", Lampron told The Canadian Press, adding that Canada imports five times more dairy from the USA than it exports.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Finance Minister Bill Morneau said that message was communicated clearly to Trump during his meetings at the G7 leaders' summit, which is wrapping up Saturday.

Trump says his tariffs are meant to protect USA industry and workers from unfair global competition as part of his "America First" agenda.

The grants, which the law caps at $125,000 for 2019, will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. State officials have already been overwhelmed with the response to the moving incentive program.

Trump gave "a long, frank rant", the official said, repeating a position he carried through the 2016 USA election campaign into the White House that the United States had suffered at the hands of its trading partners, with French President Emmanuel Macron pushing back on the assertion and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe chiming in.

That move was met with criticism at home, including from Republicans, and announcements of retaliatory tariffs from USA allies.

Trump cited progress on reaching an agreement on the North American Free Trade Agreement with Canada and Mexico, saying the final outcome would lead either to an improved trade deal or separate pacts with the two USA neighbors.

In a news conference at the G7 summit in La Malbaie before leaving for Singapore to meet with the North Korean leader, Trump is reiterating his contentious case that Russian Federation should be re-invited back into the G7 because a G8 would be more meaningful.
