Two Koreas agree to completely restore military communication lines

In a joint statement signed by Trump and Kim at the historic summit, the leaders pledged to work toward "complete denuclearization" of the Korean Peninsula, falling short of specifying the plan and timeframe of the denuclearization process. On Fox News' "America's Newsroom" Wednesday, Senator Marco Rubio, R-Fl., commented on the role of Congress after President Trump's North Korea summit.

The meeting at Tongilgak, a building on the North Korean side of Panmunjom, was the first of its kind between the two Koreas since December 2007.

"I hope it's gonna be soon", Mr. Trump told reporters in Singapore after his meeting with Kim.

"We envision strong, secure and prosperous North Korea that is fully integrated into the community of nations. Those have mechanisms for relief contained in them, and we agreed that at the appropriate time that those would be considered", Pompeo said, standing next to the Chinese government's top diplomat, the state councillor, Wang Yi.

Despite the uncertainties, Mr Trump talked up the outcome of what was the first meeting between a United States and North Korean leader in six decades of hostility. It will be treated as a military victory by the North Koreans.

So Pompeo had some explaining to do as he traveled to Seoul to brief the allies on what transpired in Singapore.

MPompeo was speaking at a press conference in Seoul with his South Korean and Japanese counterparts.

Sen. John Kennedy, R-Louisiana, also defended Trump, saying he is using his words to engage in "diplomacy" with North Korea.

The US Secretary of State also held a trilateral meeting with the South Korean and Japanese foreign ministers.

Trump predicted a successful trip, even saying that there's potential for Kim to visit the U.S. "It's a fairly big process". South Korea and China, rattled by the ratcheting tensions, signed on to tougher and more restrictive USA -led sanctions.
