Extreme heat to stick around GTA for most of the week

High heat and humidity will return for Tuesday. That rain may turn into a full-out thunderstorm, so plan your outdoor activities accordingly.

Last Thursday, the agency issued a heat warning for the Canada Day long weekend, calling the upcoming heat wave "the most significant heat event" Ontario has experienced in the last few years.

Montreal's health authority says 11 people have now died from complications related to the hot and humid weather. "We are looking at temperatures 30 or above all the way until Friday".

Nighttime will offer some relief each day with temperatures hovering around 20 C. The humidity will stick around though.

"And also keep in mind to make sure you don't leave any people or pets in your vehicle, as temperatures will rise dramatically within minutes".
