Gunman dead after shooting nine people in downtown Toronto

UPDATE at 12:47 am Monday EDT: Toronto Police have updated the number of victims to 14, not including the deceased shooter. Toronto police said that the shooter is dead as well. Another girl, of 8 or 9 years old, is in critical condition.

Police say nine people, including a young girl, where shot after a gunman opened fire.

Shooting with multiple victims on Danforth Avenue in Toronto

In videos posted on social media, multiple gunshots can be heard and police cars are seen at the scene.

The shooting comes as Toronto police increased their numbers in the city to tackle a recent increase in recent gun violence.
