Orrin Hatch may have given a clue about Trump's Supreme Court pick

Trump is not naming names, but says he'll decide by the weekend and announce his pick Monday night at 8PM CST. IL law protects it. Trump conducted interviews on Monday and Tuesday and has spoken to seven possible candidates.

According to National Public Radio (NPR), President Trump has reduced the names of the potential nominees to three judges - Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett and Raymond Kethledge.

Two years later, the self-described introvert and outdoorsman finds himself again in the political spotlight - this time on the shortlist President Trump is considering to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy.

"I am interviewing some extraordinarily talented and brilliant people and I'm very, very happy with them and we will pick somebody who will be outstanding, hopefully for many years to come", Trump said Thursday. In his decade on the circuit court, Kavanaugh has sent the highest number of young lawyers to Supreme Court clerkships and has been bipartisan in his dealings, offering clerks to every justice on the high court except for Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Lee is a known conservative commodity who has all the credentials. "I think I've made it pretty clear if a nominee has demonstrated hostility to Roe v. Wade and has said that they're not going to abide by that long-standing precedent, that I could not support that nominee", Collins told reporters at a holiday parade in Bangor. "The federal right to abortion was wrongly rooted in a legal fiction", Massachusetts Family Institute president Andrew Beckwith rebuts.

Barrett, 46, clerked for the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

The US President has chosen prime time to make the announcement.

In addition to the two Supreme Court picks, Trump has been nominating judges to lower federal courts at a rapid pace, establishing a judicial legacy that would last fore years before his term. Or it could be a clue that he's already made the decision and Hatch as one of the highest-ranking senators could already know his choice. Politico reported on Monday that the liberal action group Demand Justice was investing $5 million into a shock-and-awe messaging campaign that would emphasize the threat posed to abortion rights by Trump's potential nominee. Trump adviser says two Supreme Court candidates are tougher sell
Just days after his inauguration in January 2017 he nominated the conservative justice Neil Gorsuch to the court. On Saturday, he tweeted that a "Big decision" was coming soon. "But I'm putting conservative people on".

She was confirmed 55 to 43 by the Senate, and three Democrats voted for her - Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Tim Kaine of Virginia and Joe Donnelly of Indiana.

Judge Brett Kavanaugh, 53, a longtime Washington insider, worked for Ken Starr during the Whitewater investigation of President Bill Clinton. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg-a Democratic appointee and the Supreme Court's most fervent liberal-is 84.

Barrett's profile rose rapidly past year with conservative groups after her confirmation hearing featured questioning from Democrats over how her Roman Catholic faith would affect her decisions.

"If Democrats tried to go anti-Catholic with her, that'd backfire and we know it", said Rep. Peter T. King (R-N.Y.).
