Samsung texting app sent user pictures to other phones on its own

Owners of Samsung's most recent flagship phones are reporting the bundled-in messaging app is randomly texting their contacts photos stored in the camera roll. ".When her phone texted me her gallery, it didn't show up on her end - and vice versa". The only way people know this is happening, is once they receive a response from the recipient of the message sent.

Users posted complaints on Reddit and Samsung's support forums about a odd issue that appears to be silently sending photos to random contacts.

Several posters on Reddit and other forums have begun claiming that their Samsung phones have been sending entire photo galleries to unsuspecting people.

On Samsung's Galaxy S9 support board, a user said Samsung Messages became buggy after an T-Mobile RCS/advanced messaging update on his phone.

Users have theorised that the problems could be caused by the rollout of Rich Communications Service (RCS) on certain carriers in the US. RCS was meant to update the old short messaging system (SMS) protocol with new features. However, T-Mobile told Gizmodo that the whole thing is "not a T-Mobile issue". The good news is, Samsung is aware of the issue and is looking into it.
