Manafort attorney Kevin Downing says that Rick Gates will testify at the conclusion of the testimony of Manafort's tax preparer. At the end of the day, the prosecutors said they expected to have three more hours worth of direct questioning for Gates.

"There's a massive rush of people wanting to get out of Lombok because of unfounded rumours, such as of a tsunami", said Muhammad Faozal, the head of the tourism agency in West Nusa Tenggara province.

The US Geological survey reported a 5.2-magnitude quake just off the coast of Lombok between the tourist town of Senggigi and the Gili Islands on Monday at 11.50pm.

Earthquakes continue to rock the eastern Indonesia island of Lombok with more than 340 people reportedly dead, while poor infrastructure is frustrating efforts to get relief to isolated communities in the centre and highlands of the island. Before that, another strong quake on July 29 had already shaken Lombok, killing 16 people. As a result of the seismic activity in the region, it is estimated that more than 1,400 are seriously injured and 270,000 are displaced. Until Tuesday (8/8), aftershocks still occurred after the natural disaster with a magnitude of 7 hit Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday (5/8).

The national disaster agency stood by its latest death toll of 131 despite other government agencies including the military reporting much higher figures. "The electricity was off, but it went back on, I grabbed my kid then ran out to save us from the rubble". So far, the worst damage has occurred in North Lombok with a death toll of 78.

Many frightened villagers are staying under tents or tarpaulins dotted along roads or in parched rice fields, and makeshift medical facilities have been set up to treat the injured.

Sunday's quake also sent some 2,500 people to hospital with serious injuries and drove more than 156,000 people from their homes. But her story underscores the challenges facing this devastated region: "Four days after the natural disaster killed hundreds of people and displaced 270,000 more, injured survivors in remote areas cut off by landslides and broken bridges are still emerging from the ruined countryside, struggling to reach the doctors they desperately need".

Spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said there are reports of other deaths but they still need to be verified.
