Antonio Valencia will reclaim Man United captaincy from Paul Pogba Jose Mourinho

Pogba came out in the in the post-match inteview after captaining the side to a 2-1 victory over Leicester in their Premier League opener last week, hinting his unhappiness at Old Trafford.

After the win, Pogba refused to comment on his relationship with Mourinho for fears of being fined saying, "There are things I can say and there are things that I cannot say otherwise I will get fined".

When asked about the speculation surrounding Pogba, he responded, "The truth is we are together for two years and a couple of weeks and I've never been so happy with him as I am now, that's the truth".

"I can not demand more from him".

"I knew before it's not going to be easy playing against such quality teams, with big names".

Paxton Lynch Got Booed Off The Field, And You Can See Why
If the Broncos had to choose between keeping Lynch over a guy like, say, Isaiah McKenzie right now, the choice would be clear. Of course, word from the Broncos fall camp had already foreshadowed the preseason opener of what to get ready for.

Jose Mourinho looked to dispel any fears that him and Paul Pogba have fallen out at Manchester United.

"The captains I played under really had that consistency and would still contribute on their bad days and I've got no doubts that he will reach those levels of consistency for United and be a top, top player".

Mourinho questioned whether Valencia had returned to preseason training in the right shape after injury cut short his tour of the US while there has been continued speculation that the United manager's relationship with Pogba has broken down. I think the style is the same and the fact that they lost the first match [against Watford], obviously they are working for a reaction, working to improve their game, so a hard match for us, but we are confident.

"I don't care [about his comments]".

"I've been here for two years and the only player to have ever been fined is Anthony Martial", he admitted.

They accept the offensive line sometimes has not exactly the same desire to defend, so they close the gaps and help us with that. We didn't play well, we didn't create too many chances apart from the first 15 minutes of the second half.

However, despite Mourinho's positive words about Pogba, the United boss alluded to the importance of continuity in the first team and therefore confirmed that Valencia would resume his role as captain once he recovered from injury.

"Don't put him in a situation that people can think he's not a polite, educated guy".

The main highlights of today's Mourinho press session were the responses the Portugese gave about his relationship with Paul Pogba. "'But one day when Antonio comes back, Antonio will be the captain again".
