Customers attacked with brooms after dispute over botched $5 eyebrow wax

Thomas says that when she refused to pay for the eyebrow job that she thought was done poorly, an argument ensued and escalated.

A woman and her two grand-daughters went to New Red Apple Nails in Brooklyn to get their nails done and ended up fighting for their lives.

They then turn to another shopper who is helping her granddaughter escape the clutches of the staff members and start beating her in the back.

The protest happened after video was shared on Facebook Friday night showing a group of women in smocks surrounding a woman as a second woman whacks her with a broom.

The video was posted on Facebook by another buyer who was inside the shop during the mayhem.

A brawl at a Brooklyn nail salon caught on video has led to multiple arrests and protests calling for the salon to shut down.

According to Pix 11, Zhing faces charges of misdemeanor menacing, misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, while Thomas faces charges of misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor menacing and harassment. Christina Thomas, who Zheng allegedly struck with a broomstick, also faces assault charges. The workers take broomsticks and pummel the women.

The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office says the investigation is ongoing, and charges will be evaluated accordingly. Thomas declined medical attention, the station reported.

Sandwiched in between a West Indian grocery store and a sneaker store, New Red Apple Nails is located on the edge of East Flatbush, a working-class neighbourhood in Brooklyn.

The NY Post estimates around 150 people showed up to protest the nail salon on Monday, many holding signs reading "Black $$$ matter", "They beat black women here", and "Don't spend here".

"I'm expecting justice, but most of all I'm expecting black people to learn that when these business don't respect you, you don't spend your money with them", one protester, Tionna Smalls, told ABC7 NY. "Anytime a store doesn't respect us, we're going to shut it down".
