Five Killed as Small Plane Crashes in Mall Parking in California

Five people were killed when a small airplane crashed Sunday afternoon in a Santa Ana parking lot near South Coast Plaza, ABC7News reported.

There was no explosion upon impact, but the plane fell on a red Chevrolet sedan and damaged 3 other cars in the parking lot. Floria posted a photo to Instagram about two hours before the crash with the caption, "Flying out to LA".

Three of the victims were co-workers at Pacific Union International, a San Francisco Bay Area real estate firm, and the two others were their family members, the company said.

The Orange County coroner's office on Monday identified the victims as Scott Shepherd, 53, and Lara Shepherd, 42, of Diablo, California; Floria Hakimi, 62, of Danville, California; Navid Hakimi, 32, of Los Angeles; and Nasim Ghanadan, 29, of Alamo, California.

Houston police said 61-year-old Jean Pierre Ndossoka was taken to a hospital in stable condition Sunday after authorities found him in Pasadena, just southeast of Houston.
