Deal close on 4-player trade with Suns, Rockets

The Rockets have traded Ryan Anderson to the Suns for Brandon Knight in a four-player deal, according to ESPN.

The deal, first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Thursday night, was made official on Friday afternoon. "De'Anthony is a talented young guard who stood out for us throughout the pre-Draft process and at the NBA Summer League". In 2016-17, Knight finished with the worst field goal (39.8) and 3-point field goal (32.4) percentages of his career. His shooting ability simply couldn't compensate for his defensive struggles and inability to switch onto smaller players, which became a trademark of the Rockets' revamped defense last season. He averaged 7.7 points and 5.5 rebounds in 21.2 minutes per game last season in Phoenix.

Knight, also a No. 8 overall pick, but in the 2001 draft, will be joining his fourth team.

The Rockets have been working to move Anderson, 30, for more than a year.

The 2011-12 NBA Most Improved Player Award victor, Anderson is one of just two players to average at least two three-point makes per game in each of the last eight seasons, joined only by Golden State's Stephen Curry.

Melton was selected by the Rockets in the second round of the 2018 National Basketball Association draft.

Don McGahn to leave job as White House counsel, Trump says
McGahn has been working to appoint judges, including Supeme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, to federal courts. The New Jersey native had been a partner at Jones Day, one of the world's largest law firms.

With the move, the Rockets have relieved themselves of the final two years and $41.7 million remaining on Anderson's contract.

I've listened to a lot of Phoenix Suns-themed podcasts this offseason, most penciling in Brandon Knight as the team's starting point guard. Knight has two years and $30.2 million left on his contract.

A stretch-four, Anderson shot 40 percent from 3-point range two seasons ago with Houston. If they don't exercise Chriss' team option before the October 31 deadline, they'll save up to $5.6 million in 2019 with the difference between Anderson and Knight's contracts.
