Leaks suggest Apple's entry-level phone may be named iPhone XC

Leaks suggest Apple's entry-level phone may be named iPhone XC

Highly anticipated: Apple is nearly ready to show off this year's lineup of iPhones, but for those that can not wait, new pictures of the iPhone XC have arrived. Typically these are the years when Apple's new iPhones get under-the-hood updates (like upgraded processors and features) instead of major design changes (think iPhone 6 versus iPhone 6S).

Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to launch a new iteration of its smartwatch. The first is the nomenclature.

Apple is gearing up for its September 12 event where the Cupertino, US-based technology giant is expected to announce iPhone 2018, iPad Pro 2018, MacBook and Apple Watch.

Calm before the storm Tuesday; Gordon moves in Wednesday — ALERT DAY
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell declared her own state of emergency and closed all non-essential government offices. A storm surge warning has been issued for the area stretching from Louisiana to Alabama.

iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XC? Some report leaked a few weeks ago suggested that Apple may launch the two high-end models on September 12 and bring the affordable 6.1-inch iPhone a month later. This will only be possible on Wednesday when Apple will present the new products at the Steve Jobs Theater on their own campus.

While Apple watchers wait for the company to wow the world with a surprise such as augmented reality glasses or an Apple auto that drives itself, the company has ramped up the amount of money it makes selling online services and digital content to the vast sea of iPhone users. The new larger iPhone X-like phone is expected to be more expensive than the starting price of £999 of 2017's iPhone X, further stretching the expense of top-end smartphones.

That would make the iPhone XC around £775 using today's exchange rate.

Four Dead, Including Suspect, In Ohio Bank Shooting
One onlooker, Leonard Cain, told a newspaper he had been about to enter the bank when someone warned him about the shooting. Police Chief Eliot Isaac said the killer used a 9 mm handgun and was carrying magazines with some 200 rounds of ammunition.

The iPhone might be the last holdout when Apple continues to switch devices to USB-C this Fall.

"Apple doesn't have to prove anything, other than that they are willing to segment the market more", he said, while pointing out that the company will likely be "offering a wider array of choices". The new Apple Watch is expected to have a similar design to the current Apple Watch 3, but potentially with a slightly larger screen squeezed into the same size body, according to reports. This year, the new models will likely be available for purchase much closer to their announcement date. It also might include Touch ID, but with no Touch Bar. Of course, there's always the possibly of a shocking "One more thing", but true shocks are no longer easy for Apple to pull off.

The new phones will be "all display", meaning no buttons on the front - so it's pretty certain that you'll be unlocking your phone with your face if you buy any new iPhone in 2018.
