But ESPN's Maria Taylor brought it up in an on-field postgame interview with Alabama coach Nick Saban - and he was not happy with the question.

"What answers did you have about your quarterbacks after watching both of them play tonight?" she asked.

Saban responded: "I still like both guys".

When a season opens and Saban has to determine which quarterback he will go with, in the past he's given playing time to multiple players in the first game.

The Alabama Crimson Tide kicked off their defense of last season's national title with a 51-14 drubbing of Louisville. Tagovailoa started and most would expect him to continue starting.
